Alt-Right Personality Who Spread #MacronLeaks & PizzaGate at WH Press Briefing
WASHINGTON, May 9, 2017—Jack Posobiec, far-right video commentator for the Rebel, an obscure, alt-right website, was at today’s White House press briefing.

In his early thirties, Posobiec is well known in alt-right circles like 4chan and Infowars. In an article published by The New Yorker Sunday, Posobiec describes what he does as “4-D journalism.”
“I’m willing to break the fourth wall,” Posobiec told Andrew Marantz. “I’m willing to walk into an anti-Trump march and start chanting anti-Clinton stuff—to make something happen, and then cover what happens. So, activism tactics mixed with traditional journalism tactics.”
The same article quotes an analysis by the Digital Forensic Research Lab that tracked the origin of the #MacronLeaks hashtag to Posobiec’s Twitter account. The analysis also found that Posobiec’s account was second only to Wikileaks in amplifying the hashtag.
Regarding allegations that Posobiec was working on behalf of Russia to smear French president-elect Macron, Posobiec denied involvement.
“I wouldn’t know how to use a bot,” Posobiec said to The New Yorker. “I just find interesting things and post them to my Twitter feed. Look, journalists have gotten so bad that if they see someone like me doing real work, actually digging through documents and distributing them to the people, they assume there must be some sort of conspiracy behind it.”
Several legitimate journalists and commentators questioned Posobiec’s presence Tuesday at the White House daily press briefing.

Posobiec is also known for being a Trump campaign organizer and for his support of the debunked PizzaGate conspiracy. He was also one of the organizers of the so-called “Depoloraball” during Trump’s inauguration, and one of the planners behind the alt-right’s smear campaign against Trump protesters during the 2016 election.
It is legitimate to question, as many already have, what this kind of so-called journalist is doing at a White House press briefing and what qualifies him to obtain White House press credentials.
