Keep the Pressure on Jason Chaffetz

WASHINGTON, February 10, 2017—After an explosive town hall in Utah Wednesday night, it is more important than ever to continue the pressure on Jason Chaffetz to investigate Donald Trump and his administration.

“If you’re going to run and try to become the president of the United States, you’re going to have to open up your kimono and show everything, your tax returns, your medical records,” said Chaffetz in an interview on August 24, 2016. “You’re just going to have to do that, it’s too important.”

Donald Trump has not released his tax returns and has refused to divest himself from his businesses, as counseled by several ethics experts. His conflicts of interests grow by the day. However, Chairman Chaffetz has so far refused to investigate the new president.

In an October 26, 2016 interview Jason Chaffetz promised he would investigate Hillary Clinton, should she be elected president.

“Even before we get to Day One, we’ve got two years’ worth of material already lined up,” said Chaffetz. “She has four years of history at the State Department, and it ain’t good.”

However, now that Donald Trump has been elected president, Chaffetz has ignored calls from House Democrats and his own constituents to investigate Trump. Chaffetz did send a joint letter to the Office of Government Ethics regarding Kellyanne Conway, but to date refuses to investigate Trump.
